Week 66 - "Portezuelo. A new adventure. Everything new. My friends, I'm ready for anything you ask. I am animated to be here with this great privilege to continue working as the hands of my Father."

November 5, 2014

What?
If I can do it, so can you, my friends.
Con mucho amor, Hermana Castleton

TRANSLATION...

I LEFT La Cisterna. And I went into a totally different world. (Sorry to write them in Spanish but time is making me hard to write in English). Portezuelo, San Bernardo (Portezuelo is a neighborhood in San Bernardo). And my new companion: Sister Morales of Colombia. WHA ?! Amazing, right? I still do not think so. It was hard to leave my companion Sister Reyes, my
Ibia, Elvira, Eduardo y yo. We made Apple Pie, but I didn't get
to eat it because we had to leave before it was finished. Cuak
sweetheart, but I'm so excited and happy to be here in this neighborhood. We walk ALL day yesterday and knew much of the industry, but have not much yet. Then I send you a photo of the map. Sector is huge. But seriously, I cannot express enough the state of happiness in which I am. Wow. Life is good. It's very different and very changed in the two days that I'm here, but I loved it when I arrived.
Just to show you I have not changed a bit B)
For those who are wondering how I was on my birthday, It went very fast and very long and very sad at the same time. I had to say goodbye to everyone in Progresso Monday and although I was not a long time, they have much love for the members. But my birthday was dandy. I enjoyed it a lot and Reyes did a lot of things for us to celebrate. It was fun. I made pancakes from a box and put the Happy Birthday banner on the wall so we could see it. They sang to me and hugged me and we ate almost all pancakes. Then we celebrated with Bishop Ortega and his wife, Paola, at home with the four Elders of Progresso (sector). We had raspberry cake (which later made me ill) and then we totally surprised to tell us that he was going to put a picture of us on his wall of photos of golden missionaries. What? That’s madness. And after that, he gave me a hug in which I felt very strange and dirty. But he told

This is Jesus I drew for an activity of Progreso. It was fun. I made copies
and made a little bookmark. I'll send more fotos next week
me that I am one of the greatest and most magnificent missionaries he had met. I was completely choked up. Seriously, I did not believe it until he began to mourn when we left. I know I made a big change in that neighborhood and I am very blessed to be part of it. God blessed us a ton in our short time there and now hopefully begin to see and experience the rewards. I could not say goodbye to many people there but I hope to send my greetings over there and feel my love.

Portezuelo. A new adventure. Everything new. My friends, I'm ready for anything you ask. I am animated to be here with this great privilege to continue working as the hands of my Father. I’ll let you know in my next letter how my week went as I go on my adventure. Hope you are well. Have many good and influential experiences in sharing the gospel. Look for opportunities to be the hands of God. If I can do it, so can you, my friends.

With much love,

Hermana Castleton
